This guitar group is for those with a basic experience of playing the guitar and focuses mainly on fingerstyle. We play acoustic guitars which are either nylon or steel strung. There is no requirement to read music as learning this is integrated into our sessions.
We play a wide variety of music from classical to modern popular tunes. This can be either as a whole group together playing various parts, or as smaller ensembles. We play from sheet music, however we do take time to go through each piece carefully to develop our musical knowledge and understanding, as well as playing.
All you need to join the group is lots of enthusiasm, a guitar and music stand.

If you are a complete beginner then we also offer a Beginners Group for those who have never played before and cannot read music. This runs alongside our main group, so members can join in with their newly acquired skills when they feel ready. Please view the relevant page for more information.
