The u3a is a UK-wide organisation that operates in over 1,000 locations. Each location is run by its members, for its members, providing the opportunity to meet friends and make friends and to participate in a wide range of activities. There are no age restrictions, but the weekday activities typically attract those that are in their “THIRD AGE” i.e. not in full time employment or are no longer bringing up a family and now have time for themselves!
