The  Intermediate French Conversation group is 11 years old this year and we now have approx. 20 Members, which makes for a busy and sometimes noisy class. We are not a group for Beginners, but are actively looking to start one as soon as we can find a Group Leader – anyone interested please contact me.

We have made a lot of progress since 2014 and now run a multi- ability group, keeping in tune with good U3A principles and indeed everyone supports each other with any hesitations or lapses of memory with those pesky verbs!

Focusing on practical conversation scenarios, we also use a book titled Facon de Parler 2 Intermediate as our  grammar and comprehension base. We vary the sessions with Cross words, Tongue Twisters, Dictées, Quizzes etc etc. We continue to make great strides with pronunciation – such that visitors to France have been complemented by the locals on their accent!

We meet twice a month, but the homework between meetings keeps practice going. Everybody gets a chance to speak several times in the hour. It is always a very relaxed  atmosphere .
