Riding a bike is about getting in shape, being healthy and having fun.

Aimed at the less confident cyclist or for people who are looking for a bit of low-impact exercise. The Pedallers take their rides at a more leisurely pace than the Wheelers, but riders still need to have a reasonable level of fitness. The Pedallers meet every Monday at a location advised by the Group Leader. Our rides for the Pedallers are generally around 11 miles (17 km) for approximately 2 hours.

Please contact the Group Leader, by simply clicking on the Group Email link above.

Both groups (Cycling Wheelers & Cycling Pedallers) keep in touch via their respective group WhatsApp chat forum. Normally, a day or 2 before the ride, the Group Leader will identify who is available on the day and check the weather forecast. We don’t cycle in high winds, heavy rain, fog or in icy conditions. A new member who wants to cycle should send an email to the group leader who, after an initial chat to confirm basic criteria, will then advise the main group that a new rider is coming so that he or she gets a nice welcome. You will be assigned a “buddy” to ensure you will not be left alone on your first few rides. While every effort is taken to avoid busy A and B class roads, riders must be competent and confident road users. Both traditional and ebikes must be in good condition and fully roadworthy with a bell and lights. Riders must wear a high visibility jacket and we would encourage the wearing of a helmet. We work very hard to ensure that all new riders cycle within their comfort range. The most important thing is that you enjoy it.
